Archival footage of crashes from demolition derbies and the annihilation of residential structures during nuclear tests were used to create a short video loop. Playing the moments of destruction in slow motion, first backwards, then forwards, creates a cycle of implosion and explosion that becomes a meditation on the destructive cycles that our human history follows and our fascination with the act of destruction itself. The video loop plays on a small black and white television, which is precariously balanced over an inadequate net that would certainly collapse if it were to fall.
